Different, Still Together
We don’t have to be alike to belong together.

This piece began with two colors that could hardly be more different.
One is the warm red of Nanhong agate. The other is the clear blue of turquoise.
I kept the form almost the same — a simple, uninterrupted circle — and let the stones remain completely themselves.
That contrast became the meaning of the design.

The same circle. Different colors.
Some of the closest relationships in our lives are not built on being the same.
A best friend may see the world differently. Sisters can grow into completely different people. Two people can take different paths and still remain deeply connected.
The circle stays whole. The colors stay their own.

We don’t have to be alike to belong together.
A ring for connection without sameness.
Choose the red if it feels more like you.
Choose the blue if that is the color you keep coming back to.
Wear both together, or choose one for yourself and one for someone whose differences have never made them feel far away.
Different, still together.
